Troy Education Association

Welcome to our local teacher's association website. This site was created to help better our communication with each other.

Inside, you will find pages for each of our building reps, links to great resources, a members only area, updates on local and national education news, important information for employees of the Troy Education Association, and access to the many services of MEA and NEA. Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or suggestions on how to make this site better.

The task of the excellent teacher is to stimulate "apparently ordinary" people to unusual effort. The tough problem is not in identifying winners: it is in making winners out of ordinary people.

Union leaders promote collective bargaining rights

House committee meetings delayed the start of the Sept. 10 hearing of the Public Employee Health Care Reform Committee. But it was certainly worth the wait to hear the testimony of Brit Satchwell, Ann Arbor Education Association president. He had the attention of committee members as he questioned the plan's primary focus on costs, while it dismisses the cost containment measures employees have already bargained with their employers. Watch his testimony online at www.mea.org.
