It is Open Enrollment time for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program for the 2017 plan year (January - December). FSA’s are a great way to save money. An FSA allows you to set aside tax free dollars from your paycheck each month to pay for certain out-of-pocket expenses for health and dependent care. Employees that currently have a MESSA High Deductible Plan (HSA) are not eligible to participate in the Medical FSA account; however, you may enroll in the Dependent Care FSA account.

FSA Participants Must Enroll Every Plan Year!

Troy School District FSA accounts are administered through Next Generation Enrollment, Inc. (NGE). The 2017 FSA enrollment will be done completely online. The attachments above provide information on:

  • Your FSA Open Enrollment

  • What Is A Flex Spending Account?

  • How You Can Enroll

  • Managing Your Account through NGE Anytime (Mobile App)

  • Reimbursement Services (Next Day Pay)

You will need to log-in to the NGE website and complete enrollment between November 14, 2016 through December 2, 2016. This is the only time of the year you can enroll or make changes in the flexible spending account program. Participants may do the following by accessing the NGE website at https://www.nextgenerationenrollment.com/NGE/index.html.

  • Make an Open Enrollment Election

  • Manage their account online

  • Access to a wealth of information

  • Submit Reimbursement Claims

Once enrolled, the first payroll deduction for the new FSA plan year will occur on your January 13, 2017 paycheck. You may elect to have your contribution deducted from 20 or 26 pays. After reviewing your January paycheck, please contact the Benefits office immediately, if you have a question about your initial deduction.
