Greetings New Teachers,
Welcome to your new professional home. It may seem strange to think of the Troy School District as a second home, but you will quickly discover that you will spend quite a bit of time in the District building relationships with students, teachers, staff and administrators. We are a family of professionals focused on one goal - the education of children. As a family, we work together to achieve this important goal. It is comforting to know that you are not alone in this task; your colleagues will be there to offer you support and guidance.
The Troy Education Association is not just your union, it is an intricate part of your professional family - your fellow teachers will be there to support you, to offer you help when needed, to praise your achievements, and to support and guide your professional growth. The Troy Education Association exists to help our members succeed professionally. The Association diligently works to secure teachers a better wage, benefits, and working conditions. We adhere to the belief that teachers’ working conditions are our students’ learning conditions.
At the Troy Education Association luncheon later this week, Association members will be there to answer any questions you may have about our Association. Information will be available that is designed to help you better understand your Troy Education Association and the benefits it can bring to your professional life. Your union leadership is here to help you with whatever questions or needs you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact your local Troy Education Association leadership about anything. Your leadership is here for you.
On behalf of the teachers in Troy, and your Troy Education Association, I wish to welcome you to our family and to your new professional home.
Sincerely,
Jason Cichowicz
