Dear New Teachers,

Welcome to your new professional home!
While it may feel unusual at first to think of the Troy School District as a home, you’ll soon find that it truly becomes one.  Here, you’ll build meaningful relationships with students, fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators.  We are a close-knit family of professionals united by a shared mission: educating children.  And like any strong family, we work together, support one another, and celebrate our collective achievements.

The Troy Education Association (TEA) is more than just your union—it’s an essential part of your professional support system.  Your colleagues in the TEA are here to guide, encourage, and stand beside you throughout your journey. Our mission is to help every member thrive.  We advocate tirelessly for fair wages, strong benefits, and supportive working conditions—because we believe that teachers’ working conditions are students’ learning conditions.

If you have any questions about the Association, TEA representatives are always available to help.  The materials in this folder are designed to give you a deeper understanding of the TEA and the many benefits it offers.  Never hesitate to reach out—your TEA leadership team is here to support you.

On behalf of the entire TEA, welcome to our family and to your new professional home. We’re so glad you’re here!

Warm regards,

Jason Cichowicz
President
Troy Education Association
